MONTROSE COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL MEETING
March 21, 2005
The Montrose City Council met for Special Meeting at 5:05 p.m. on the 21st day of March 2005. Council met at City Hall, 102 S. 2nd St. pursuant to law with Mayor Ronald Dinwiddie presiding and the following Council members present:
Special meeting called for the purpose of interview Police Chief candidate.Call to Order. Meeting called to order at 5:05 p.m.
Agenda. Moved by Roberts, seconded by Brisby to approve Agenda as submitted. All ayes. Motion declared carried.At this time, Council interviewed Brent Shipman, candidate for Police Chief. Shipman says he is certified with a gun and other weapons and has been told he should be able to take the short course at the Academy due to his education, work experience, and present certifications. He will finish classes in May and take another course in summer.When Mayor Dinwiddie asked him about his salary, Shipman says since he is weapons certified, he was thinking about $22,500.00. Brisby and Dinwiddie agree. He says he will accept the position if Council offers it to him. Clerk/Treasurer Cirinna will set up times for Shipman to take the MMPI, Drug/Alcohol testing and a medical physical.
Adjournment. Moved by Brisby, seconded by Roberts to adjourn at 5:55 p.m. All ayes. Motion declared carried.
